Minerals School Camps

Encouraging high-school students to study minerals related degrees at university.

The AusIMM EEF offers funding for vacation programs aimed at encouraging school leavers to study minerals related degrees at university.

To be eligible for funding, the program must be fully residential and supervised. Students should visit mine sites, university laboratories and other facilities, and have the opportunity to talk with graduates and industry professionals about courses and careers in the minerals industry, working conditions and prospects.

Supported programs:

QMEA Engineering Camps also allow students to learn more about a career in engineering and what it is like to live in a mining community. They run camps in Mount Isa and Dysart .
